Christo Trautmann


Christo Trautmann is a Co-founder and Director of Global Negotiation Academy. He is an experienced property developer and manager, motivated by an inspired community-conscious vision, as well as being a dedicated health and wellness professional equally dedicated to serving, inspiring and empowering individuals and the community in this field. He promotes and motivates individuals to focus on personal wellness which facilitates efficient and potent communications at all levels.

His initial training in the field of electrical engineering was accompanied by studies of the holistic and vitalistic approach to individual health and wellness. Shortly thereafter he commenced studies in the United States towards a doctor's degree in chiropractic, doing post graduate work there, gaining further valuable experience and qualifications as a practitioner, trainer and consultant in the field of holistic health and personal health management.

After returning to South Africa, as a pioneer member of Cochasa (Confederation of Complementary Health Associations of South Africa), he participated in negotiations with government aimed at facilitating the recognition and registration of members of a number of complementary health associations with the Allied Health Professions Council. As one of the co-pioneers of SAVCA (South African Vitalistic Chiropractic Association), he was instrumental in negotiating the registration of disenfranchised practitioners and contributed to the equity and transparency of proceedings that led to the formation of the Allied Health Professions Council itself. As vice-chairperson of Cochasa and chairperson of SAVCA, he is still active in on-going negotiations in the field of health.

As a managing director and chairman of several private companies, and trustee of several legal and associated entities, Christo has extensive experience in the field of property finance and management. Together with studies in commerce and finance, he has honed his skills in clear communication, as well as giving him the opportunity to attain his vision of property development as an opportunity for creating environments, spaces and organically designed buildings that impact constructively on people's health. To this end, liaising with land-owners and government authorities, he pioneered the development of the 1991 "Hout Bay Village Centre and Beach Crescent Concept Plan".

In addition, Christo has attained a 4th degree Black Belt and the qualification of instructor, judge and referee in the Kushido Martial Arts System. This life-long focus has assisted him to develop patience, discipline and an appreciation for the subtleties of human dynamics.

As a result of his extensive experience of negotiation at varying levels in these seemingly diverse areas of dedication, Christo has an inspired and invaluable contribution to offer clients as a member of the panel of consultants at Global Negotiation Academy.
